\"\"Philippe LEROUX<\/strong> (France)
\n<\/strong>Philippe Leroux was born in Boulogne Billancourt (France) on September 24th, 1959. In 1978 he entered the Paris Conservatory (Conservatoire National Sup\u00e9rieur de Musique), studied with Ivo Malec, Claude Ballif, Pierre Sch\u00e4effer and Guy Reibel and obtained three first prizes. Meanwhile, he followed classes with Olivier Messiaen, Franco Donatoni, Betsy Jolas, Jean-Claude Eloy and Iannis X\u00e9nakis. In 1993 he was selected to enter the Villa Medicis in Rome for two years, where he remained until 1995.
\nHis compositional output (about seventy works to date) includes symphonic, vocal, electronic, acousmatic and chamber music. His works are the result of various commissionners, with among them the French Ministry of Culture, Radio-France Philharmonic Orchestra, S\u00fcdwestfunk Baden Baden, IRCAM, Percussions de Strasbourg, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Ensemble Court-Circuit, the Nouvel Ensemble Moderne de Montreal, Avanta Ensemble, Ensemble 2e2m, Ensemble Sillages, Ensemble Orchestral Contemporain, INA-GRM, Sixtrum, Ensemble Ictus, Festival Musica, Ensemble BIT 20, Koussevitsky Foundation, San Francisco Contemporary Music Players, Ensemble Athelas, Orchestre National de Lorraine, Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice, CIRM, INTEGRA, and several other institutions of international standard.
\nHis music is widely performed in various European festivals and International orchestras such as Donaueschingen, Radio-France Pr\u00e9sences (Paris), Agora (Paris), Venice Biennale, Ba th Festival, Festival Musica (Strasbourg), Stockholm ISCM, Barcelona Festival, Musiques en Sc\u00e8nes (Lyon), Festival Manca (Nice), Bergen Festival, Ultima (Oslo) Festival, Tage f\u00fcr Neue Musik (Z\u00fcrich), BBC Symphony Orchestra (London), Tonhalle Orchester Z\u00fcrich, BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra (Glasgow), Philharmonia Orchestra (London), Czech Philharmony, etc\u2026
\nHe has received many prizes and awards: Prix Herv\u00e9 Dugardin, Best contemporary musical creation Award 1996 for (d’)ALLER, SACEM Prize, Andr\u00e9 Caplet and Nadia and Lili Boulanger Prizes from the Academy of Fine Arts (Institut de France), Salabert Prize for his piece Apocalypsis and Arthur Honegger Prize (Fondation de France) for his overhall production. In addition, Philippe Leroux writes articles on contemporary music, gives lectures and teaches composition at Berkeley University (California), Harvard, Grieg Academy (Bergen), Columbia University (New-York), Royal conservatory of Copenhage, Toronto University, Fondation Royaumont, IRCAM, American Conservatoire at Fontainebleau, Paris and Lyon Conservatoires Nationaux Sup\u00e9rieurs, Domaine Forget (Quebec) , Georgia Institute of Technology at Atlanta, Tcha\u00efkovsky Conservatory at Moscow…
\nFrom 2001 to 2006 he was a teacher in composition at IRCAM in the frame of the “Cursus d’Informatique Musicale”. In 2005 and 2006 he was professor at McGill University (a Fondation Langlois programme). From 2007 to 2009 he was composer-in-residence at Metz Arsenal and at Orchestre National de Lorraine, then since 2009 to 2011, invited professor at Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al (UdeM). From september 2011 he is Associate Professor in composition at the Schulich School of Music, McGill University. He is currently composer-in-residence at Ensemble MEITAR in Tel-Aviv.<\/p>\n

Francesco FILIDEI (Italy)
\n<\/strong>Francesco Filidei was born in 1973 in Pisa. He completed his music studies at the Luigi Cherubini Conservatory in Florence and at the Conservatoire National Sup\u00e9rieur de Paris always awarded priority. In 2000 he completed the composition course Voix Nouvelles in Royaumont.
\nHe has been invited by the most important festivals of contemporary music such Darmstadt, Donaueschingen, Wien Modern, Musica Strasbourg, Biennale de Venise, Milano Musica, Printemps des Arts Monaco, Agora Ircam, Mata de New Yourk, Archipel de Geneve, Huddersfield, at the Berliner Philharmonie, the Theaterhaus in Vienna, the Ircam in Paris, Milano Musica and Forum Neues Musiktheater in Stuttgart. Both as a composer and an organist he has been recorded by Rafdio Tre, Radio France, SWR, RSR.
\nHis works are published by Rai Trade and performed by various ensembles such 2E2M, Musikfabrik, Linea, l\u2019Itineraire, Alter Ego,\u00a0 NEM, EOC, Intercontemporain, Les Percussions de Strasbourg, Klangforum, Carin, Recherche, Ascolta, Next Mushroom Promotion, Tokyo Sinfonietta, Ars Ludi, Icarus, Ictus, Signal, Neue Vocalsolisten, Radio Vienna Orchestra, Orchestra Sinfonica Rai, WDR, SWR, Tokyo Symphony Orchestra.
\nIn 2006 he received the Musikpreis Sazburg F\u00f6rderpreis and the Commande of the Reading Panel Ircam. In 2006 he is a composer in residence at the Academy Schloss Solitude in Stutgart. In 2007 won the Japanese Takefu International Prix and became a member in residence of the Casa de Velazquez in Madrid for two years. In 2009 he obtains the Siemens F\u00f6rderpreis and in 2010 he is a professor of composition for Voix Nouvelles in Royaumont and the invited professor in Iowa University and Takefu Academy. He wan the Picasso\/Miro Medal UNESCO in 2011 and the Villa Medicis Residency program in 2912.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
