Marc Andr\u00e9 (France)\u00a0 <\/strong>
\nMark Andr\u00e9, born 1964 in Paris. Mr. Andr\u00e9 studied analysis, composition, counterpoint, harmony, and musical research with Claude Ballif, G\u00e9rard Grisey and others at the Conservatoire National Sup\u00e9rieur de Musique de Paris, where he earned six premier prix and graduated in 1992. He earned his PhD in musicology, Le compossible musical de l’Ars subtilior, under the supervision of Olivier Boulnois and Philippe Vendrix at the \u00c9cole Normale Sup\u00e9rieure de Paris (Ulm-Jourdan) and the Centre d’\u00c9tudes Sup\u00e9rieures de la Renaissance de Tours in 1993. He then studied composition with Helmut Lachenmann at the Staatliche Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik und darstellende Kunst in Stuttgart from 1994\u201397 and attended Darmstadt in 1996, where he encountered Wolfgang Rihm. His honors include a residency at the Akademie Schloss Solitude (1995\u201396), the Kompositionspreis from the city of Stuttgart (1996, for Le trou noir univers), the Blaue Br\u00fccke Preis (1996, for Fatal), a residency at the Villa M\u00e9dicis-hors-les-murs in Germany (1996), the Kranichsteiner Musikpreis at Darmstadt (1996, for Un-Fini I and le loin et le profond), and a scholarship to work at the Experimentalstudio of the Heinrich-Strobel-Stiftung in Freiburg im Breisgau (1997\u201398). He later held a residency at the Villa Medici in Rome (1999\u20132001) and received the Internationaler Kompositionspreis of the Oper Frankfurt am Main (2001, for …das O… from …22, 13…) and the F\u00f6rderpreis der Ernst von Siemens Stiftung (2002). He recently worked as a guest of the Berliner K\u00fcnstlerprogramm of the Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst (2005) and has earned the Christoph und Stefan Kaske Kompositionspreis (2006), the Produktionspreis des Giga-Hertz-Preises f\u00fcr elektronische Musik (2007), the Orchesterpreis der Donaueschingen Musiktage (2007, for …auf… III), and the F\u00f6rderpreis des Berliner Kunstpreises der Akademie der K\u00fcnste in Berlin (2008). In 2011 – order ‘Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres’ (Minister of Culture, France). He lectured at Darmstadt in 1998, 2006 and 2010, at the Staatliche Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik in Frankfurt am Main in 2001, at the European Academy of the Festival d’Aix en Provence and Takefu International Music Festival in 2010\u00a0 and at the Fondation Royaumont in 2011. He has taught counterpoint and instrumentation at the Conservatoire National de R\u00e9gion de Strasbourg since 2002. Since 2009 Mark Andre is appointed professor of composition at the ‘Hochschule f\u00fcr Musik Dresden’\u00a0https:\/\/www.edition-peters.de\/<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
